Dusty is a 14 year old belgian cross. I've had him for 4 years. He's well broke to ride and I was told he is broke to drive though I haven't hitched him. I've ridden him at shows and on the trail. He's an excellent trail horse. He loves water and is surefooted. I've ridden him at Wranglers' Camp and in the Shawnee National Forest and he was excellent. He's good with his feet, doesn't need stocks. I trim him myself. He's great for the vet as well. I gave his shots this year myself with him loose in a stall. I can worm him loose in his paddock without a halter.
Dusty is a steady eddy type horse. Anybody can ride him. If he's ridden by a timid rider, he will walk. He can be lazy but with a motivated rider, he moves out well. I have no trouble getting him to canter. He does a nice collected jog and will extend to a nice rising trot.
He clips, bathes and ties well. He loves baths!! He also likes ponds and will roll in them if allowed to. He's UTD on vaccinations (5-way, west nile, strangles and rabies), worming (9/10/09 ivemectrin gold), hoof care and dental. He had his dental in May of this year. He's also had his sheath cleaned this summer.
Dusty is currently barefoot and has been for the past 3 years. I trim him myself. He's sound on gravel and other rough terrain without a rider. I ride him in Easyboot Epics when I trail ride. His boots will go with him when he sells. I'll also send his bit (5.5" french link butterfly) with him.
